Features of Polygon (MATIC)

Polygon is a second-level network that addresses the scalability and high fees of the Ethereum ecosystem. It uses the Polygon SDK, a proprietary technology that, combined with Proof-of-Stake, has enabled a fast and cost-effective system. Polygon's next goal is to launch application design and development tools and blockchain infrastructure. All this allows Polygon to use Ethereum without the drawbacks of the coin, but with all the advantages of security, dynamism and openness.

Initially, the network's native currency was the MATIC token. In 2023, Polygon Labs unveiled a rebranding plan. One of its points was to replace the MATIC token with a POL token, which is common to the entire system and is used for commissions, billing and investment in the project.
